1. Much
– with
uncountable nouns in questions and negative sentences.
2. Many
–
with plural uncountable nouns in questions and negative sentences.
3. A
lot of
- with countable and uncountable nouns, usually in positive sentences
but we sometimes use a lot of in questions and negative
sentences.
4. To ask about
quantity, we use :

Example : How
much milk did you buy?

How many + plural countable
noun
Example : How
many students are there in the bus?
A few, a little
