Read the following dialog.

Dedi    :What are you doing, Nina?
Nina    : I’m making a wreath. Could you pass me the ribbons, please?
Dedi    : Of course. Here it is.
Nina    : Thanks.
The sentence “Could you pass me the ribbons, please?” is an expression used to request something. Meanwhile, the sentence “Of course. Here it is.” Is an expression used to grant someone’s request.

Granting Requets
·       May I use your mobile, please?
·       Could you lend me your pencil?
·      Would it be all right if I come to your house tomorrow?
·      Do you mind if I use your bike?
·   I am wondering if I could join your study club.
·         Certainly.
·         Sure. Here you are.
·         It’s all right. Please do.
·         Absolutely not. Please.
·         Of Course, you could.
