ANALYTICAL EXPOSITION TEXT

DEFINITION AND EXAMPLE
Definition:
It is a text that gives the writer an opportunity to write his/her thought, point of view, or arguments in order to persuade the readers that something is the case.

Social Function:
To persuade the reader of listener that something’s that case.

Generic Structure of a recount text:
·         Thesis
Position: Introduces topic indicates writer’s position.
Preview: Outlines the main arguments to be presented.
·         Arguments
Point restates main arguments outlined in preview.
Elaboration: develops and supports each point/ argument.
·         Reiteration: restates writer’s position.

Significant Lexicogrammatical features:
·         Focus on generic human and non-human Participants.
·         Use of simple present tense.
·         Use of relational processes.
·         Use of internal conjunction to state argument.
·         Reasoning through Causal Conjunction or nominalization.
